ONLINE BEHAVIORAL HEALTH IN ALABAMA & IDAHO

Mental healthcare should feel good.

Maybe you’re feeling a little nervous about starting medication.  It’s a big step especially at a time when you might not feel your best.

You can experience psychiatric care that feels good.

I specialize in supporting adults experiencing anxiety, depression, or overwhelm who want a welcoming and supportive approach to their mental healthcare that also fits their busy lifestyle.

Online visits, direct access via phone and text, and appointments when you need them create an environment where the frustrations of traditional care are removed so that you can focus on healing.

I believe in practicing psychiatry through a lens of wholeness.

You are not just your body and you’re not just your mind.

You are all of that and more.

I’ve spent twelve years specializing in psychiatry and three practicing primary care.  Many patients tell me they appreciate my expertise in behavioral health as well my attention to the underlying causes and contributing factors.

So together, we’ll chip away at all the little, and not so little, challenges so you can feel a big improvement.

My philosophies

  • You are magic.

There’s something deeply beautiful inherent to each of us. Depression, anxiety, and discontent may be present in your life, but it’s not who you are. We can work together so that who you are is more of what you feel.

  • Medication is amazing...

…and it works best in a healthy environment. Rest, nutrition, movement, stress management, social connection, and so much more can work in concert with medication to support your wellness.

  • Everyone belongs here.

I recognize both the beauty and the adversity in diversity and aim to be an ally to all.

Male, female, old, young, BIPOC, LGBTQ+...you belong here.

  • You deserve care that feels good.

Psychiatry can definitely be uncomfortable, but it should be the good kind of uncomfortable where you feel pretty certain there’s growth on the other side. You deserve the good kind of uncomfortable.

Education & Experience

  • I’ve always loved science and people. So even as a child, I was drawn to medicine and could often be found playing doctor with my Cabbage Patch dolls. Now as a PA in psychiatry, I love that I get to create relationships with patients while also using science to help them. It’s the best of both worlds!

  • Bachelor of Arts Health Promotion, Hendrix College, 2004

Master’s of Physician Assistant Studies, Idaho State University 2007

Board Certified Physician Assistant National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)

Certificate of Added Qualification in Psychiatry from the NCCPA

  • Achieving Wellness in the Era of Burnout

Using Mind Body Techniques in Clinical Practice

Eastern White Pine Pineus strobus (n): A hardy, valuable tree. Clustered soft blue-green needles. Ideal screen or windbreak. Likes moist, well-drained soils.  Often used as Christmas trees.

Just like the White Pine, you are hardy and valuable, capable of buffeting the storms of life and persisting even in the cold.  You’re also a beautiful, unique being capable of experiencing great joy and light in the darkness, not just in the winter but year-round.

You can feel confident in your mental healthcare.
