WHITE PINE MENTAL HEALTH & WELLNESS SERVING ALABAMA, FLORIDA, & IDAHO

Accessible psychiatric care.

Kathryn Werner, PA-C, PC

Paying for healthcare can be confusing and overwhelming.

I like to keep it simple.

While I like to think our time together will be priceless, I totally understand finances are a very real consideration when choosing care.

We are in network with Aetna and United and offer simple, transparent self pay prices.

  • During our time together, we will focus on gathering information about your current stressors and symptoms, your life history, and your history with mental health treatment. Together, we will discuss your needs and preferences for treatment and create a plan that feels comfortable for you.

    Time: 60 minutes

    Cost: $290

  • This is a typical medication follow up. We will have time to discuss your current stressors, symptoms, and response to treatment; develop plan going forward; and explore non-medication options that might benefit you.

    Time: 30 minutes

    Cost: $145

  • This is an extended follow up visit ideal for those that want more nuanced psychotherapy and lifestyle support; have more complicated medical history; or want more detailed planning around things like sleep, nutrition, or executive functioning.

    Time: 45 minutes

    Cost: $212

  • Clinical services provided between appointments (e.g. phone calls with family members or other providers, prior authorizations, letters or forms, transfer of records)

    Time: 15 minute increments

    Cost: $75

For those with other insurances and out-of-network benefits, we are happy to provide a receipt for visits (also known as a “superbill”) that you can submit for reimbursement, which might offset your personal investment in care.

Additionally, anyone considering our services can request a Good Faith Estimate which will give additional details. Feel free to review all our office policies and reach out with any questions.

I believe in care that is :

  • Personalized

  • Accessible

  • Transparent

  • Life-changing

Common Questions about Investment

  • I am in network with private Aetna and United.

If you have any other insurance plan with out-of-network benefits, I can give you a receipt for sessions (also known as a “superbill”) that you can submit for reimbursement, which might offset your personal investment in treatment. We also partner with SuperPay who serves as an advocate for your out-of-network coverage. I am not in network with any Medicaid or Medicare plans.

  • -What are my out of network benefits for Psychiatric Care with a Physician Assistant?

    -How are telemedicine visits covered?

-What are the allowable rates for psychiatric codes (we most commonly use the CPT codes 99205, 99214, 90832)?

-What percentage of my cost is covered after I meet my deductible?

  • If you are uninsured or have health care coverage but wish to self pay, you are entitled to receive a Good Faith Estimate of your cost of care.  You can get more information on a specialized Good Faith Estimate upon request.

  • Just like every other part of a personalized approach to psychiatry, visit frequency really depends on you and your needs. Most patients are seen bi-weekly or monthly for the first few months of care to ensure you are progressing well and not experiencing side effects. We may discuss more frequent visits if you prefer to be seen more regularly or during periods of time when you are struggling and need additional support.

Once you are doing well, we can customize frequency. Some folks prefer to continue with bi-weekly or monthly visits while others want to space visits every three months. To prioritize open communication and maintain ongoing care, at least one appointment must be scheduled every 6 months.

  • I have a strict 48-hour cancellation policy. If you need to cancel or reschedule your session, please do so at least 48 hours in advance, or you will be charged the full visit fee. This is because I reserve your time slot and am typically unable to fill it with less than 72 hours notice.

Same day cancellation will be charged the full fee for your visit. If you have an emergency or extenuating circumstance and want to discuss the possibility of a refund, let me know.

  • While medications and additional testing such as labs and sleep studies are not included in the cost of care, it is certainly a very real consideration in your treatment plan. I will do my best not only to consider affordable options, but more importantly to discuss various treatment options and their respective costs as best as possible.
